Reviews
- 5/5 Stars, Yelp Review: The new Asian Supermarket really got their competitive side out! I like it! The floors are cleaner, food fresher, and they have expanded the store - more freezer sections (there is a wall on the right with fridges/freezers now). It just looks nicer. They have got some items the Asian Supermarket does not have, and their items are usually easier to find since they group them in categories that MAKE SENSE. Like, oh, I do not know, putting all of the sauces in one aisle, and all of the noodles in another aisle. Their focus is mainly on Chinese food, but also they have Phillipino, Japanese, Thai, and other asian ingredients. Price-wise, they are still competitively priced, and offer a 5% student discount - students, do not forget to bring your ID and mention it at the register!--
- 5/5 Stars, Yelp Review: The moment I saw a live fish tank labeled FRESH CRAP, I fell in love with this place and it immediately became my favorite grocery store in the area. There is usually a huge selection of good-looking fish and crabs, and they will gut them for you. Fruits and vegetables, particularly items considered EXOTIC in standard supermarkets sell for significantly less here and are always of higher quality. And you will find every esoteric item needed for any sort of Asian cuisine if you take the time. I am one of those people who hates asking for assistance, so it takes forever, but there is always the thrill of finding something unanticipated and extraordinary.--
- 4/5 Stars, Yelp Review: I had driven past this place for years without ever knowing what delights lurked inside. The condiment selection is dynamite, as it the selection of funny little candies and various teas. I am allergic to wheat so I buy a lot of rice and tapioca flours here too, because they are much cheaper than anywhere else. So are the various kinds of rice and rice noodles. They also have a whole cooler of vegetarian MEAT. A shopping trip here is sort of like a field trip for grownups. I have even bought a lot of gifts here before. Need a cheap, quick gift for a friend? How about a bag of funny little snacks? Or a set of little tea cups, some tea and some Pocky? Or a set of chopsticks and soup bowls? I recommended it to a co-worker and they ended up buying the food for their Christmas dinner here last year. He said his kids were especially fascinated by the live turtles and eels.--
